How we collect, use, and protect your personal data — in plain English.
Who we are
The Wellness Hub Dublin is operated by Kelley Connor, trading as The Wellness Hub, located at 123a Carndonagh Park, Donaghmede, Dublin 13, D13TX67, Ireland. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
If you have any questions about how we handle your data, contact us at kelley@thewellnesshub.ie or call 086 210 6867.
What data we collect and why
Contact form enquiries
When you use the contact form on our website, we collect your first name, last name, email address, and the message you send. We use this to respond to your enquiry. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).
Newsletter subscription
If you subscribe to our Thursday newsletter, we collect your email address. We use this solely to send you our weekly wellness newsletter. The legal basis is your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email.
Class bookings and membership
When you book classes or become a member, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and any relevant health notes you choose to share. We use this to manage your membership, confirm bookings, and ensure your safety during classes. The legal basis is the performance of a contract with you (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). Health notes are treated as special category data under GDPR Article 9(2)(a) — we process them only with your explicit consent.
Website analytics
We may use anonymised analytics to understand how visitors use our website (for example, which pages are most visited). Where we do so, no personally identifiable information is collected. If we add analytics tools in future, we will update this policy and obtain any required consent.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share data only as necessary to operate our services:
- LegitFit — our class booking and payment platform. When you book through LegitFit, their own privacy policy applies to that data. We recommend you review it at legitfit.com.
- Netlify — our website host, which processes form submissions on our behalf. Netlify is GDPR-compliant and acts as a data processor under our instruction.
- Google Fonts — our website loads fonts from Google's servers. Google may log your IP address as part of this. You can review Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com.
- Legal requirements — we may disclose your data if required to do so by law or in response to a valid request from a public authority.
How long we keep your data
- Contact enquiries: We retain correspondence for up to 2 years, then delete it.
- Newsletter subscriptions: Until you unsubscribe, or 2 years of inactivity, whichever comes first.
- Booking and membership records: For the duration of your membership plus 3 years, to comply with our legal and accounting obligations.
- Health notes: Deleted within 12 months of your last class with us, unless you request earlier deletion.
Your rights under GDPR
As a person in the EU/EEA, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access — you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification — you can ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Right to erasure — you can ask us to delete your data, subject to any legal obligations we have to retain it.
- Right to restrict processing — you can ask us to limit how we use your data in certain circumstances.
- Right to data portability — you can ask for your data in a machine-readable format.
- Right to object — you can object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Right to withdraw consent — where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at kelley@thewellnesshub.ie. We will respond within one month.
Cookies
Our website uses only essential browser storage (localStorage) for remembering your display preferences such as calm mode and reduced motion. We do not use tracking cookies. If we add analytics cookies in the future, we will display a cookie consent notice and update this policy.
Data security
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal data from unauthorised access, loss or misuse. Our website is served over HTTPS. Form data is transmitted securely to Netlify. We do not store payment card information — all payments are handled by LegitFit.
Transfers outside the EEA
Some of our service providers (including Netlify and Google Fonts) may process data outside the EEA. Where this occurs, appropriate safeguards are in place, including Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.
How to make a complaint
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission (DPC), Ireland's supervisory authority:
- Website: dataprotection.ie
- Phone: +353 57 868 4800
- Post: Data Protection Commission, 21 Fitzwilliam Square South, Dublin 2, D02 RD28
We would, however, appreciate the opportunity to address your concern directly before you contact the DPC.
